Rules, Format and terms and conditions

  • The “Race to July” is a Ranking competition run to and through July Culminating in a 18 person shoot out in each participating club.
  • The Race to July is based on a points ranking system where the points are awarded to each competitor at various competitions run through out the period.
  • The competitions that are eligible for points are displayed in the calendar in the specific clubs section with the associated prize points for each event.
  • Each competition is run separately and sponsored separately to the Race to July  rankings.
  • Each competition is run under its own rules and the race to July will only use the results of each event for awarding ranking points.
  • The ranking points are awarded to the top 50% of the clubs published results capped at top 50 places and are weighted for each competition dependant on difficulty etc. (see format)
  • There are Best 5 scores to count for the final total of points out of a possible 14 rounds.
  • Entrants can play in as many competitions as they wish but the best 5 scores will be counted for classification on the Race to July Rankings.
  • Entry into the Race to July is 20 euro and is open only to members of their Golf Club, to all members excluding Junior members.
  • Entry fee to the league can be accepted at any time however only results from that date can be used towards the Shoot out
  • There is no cut off for entry into the League
  • In the case of a tie for the cut to top eighteen, their highest last counting score will decide, if that is still equal then their next last counting score will decide and so on.
  • Scores are based on your inputted scores, if any player has been discounted please inform us through our registration page, as always official scores take precedent. Scores are provisional and will be verified by the competitions committee.
  • 18 players will take part in the final shoot out day, should there be drop outs then they will be replaced by the next in line so KEEP IT GOING!!!!.
  • Qualification for the top 18 shall be based on the ranking with the % of men and ladies proportional to the clubs overall entry split : example 100 entrants 20 ladies 80 men therefore 4 ladies must qualify and 14 men must qualify for shoot out. (rounded up or down based on the decimal point i.e. 20% is 3.6 therefore 4, 3.4 would be 3)
  • There are 18 playing on the in the shoot out, the reserves will have the opportunity to play should there be any drop out and shall be the next highest scoring player
  • Seeded draw shall be held after the last week for shoot out groupings
  • The player that tops the League shall have the honour of being in the last grouping on the shoot out day.
  • Race To July reserves the right to change dates if required due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances
  • Race To July reserves the right to make changes or add rules to competition should that need arise
